On Saturday January 28th the team got together for the ultimate x-box 360 NHL 12 tournament. Teams where drawn from a hat and the games began. Early tournament favourites where Chris DiNatale, and Jason Clarke going 5-0, and the team of Derek Haskell and Trevor Besse were a surprising 4-1. However the story of the tournament was the team of Coach Mike, and first year player Blake Jones who was up way past his bed time. They upset the team of Dylan Impens and Andrew Synnott first in the quarter finals, with Dylan Impens asking tournament officials for a rematch. The team of Mike and Blake then upset DiNatale and Clarke in the semi finals with a 1-0 victory. While all of this mayhem was going on upstairs the team of Chauvin and Ienna were quietly cleaning up downstairs with victories of 9-2, and 9-4 in the quarter and semi final games. I have never seen Robert Ienna so excited, he was like a young child on Christmas morning. But we understand his excitement of scoring in video games because rarely does he score on and off the ice.
The final game was between Coach Mike and Blake Jones (San Jose Sharks) vs. Scott Chauvin and Robert Ienna (Detroit Red Wings). Both teams battled hard but in the end Ienna and Chauvin won 5-2 clinching the tournament. Tournament M.V.P went to Darren Helm of the Detroit Red Wings.
The team would like to thank Charlie and Debbie Chauvin for hosting the tournament and allowing all the boys over and making a great meal. Thank you so much!
