The Canadiens took a 3 game to none series lead on Friday night beating the Sharks 4-3 at home. The Canadiens killed off a few key penalties early in the game to keep the score ties at 0-0, until Kanally scored making it 1-0. However, Chris DiNatale answered quickly with a pass in the slot from Scott Chauvin making it 1-1. The Canadiens added 2 powerplay goals late in the period to finish the first up 3-1. Both teams traded goals in the third period and the Canadiens came out on top winning 4-3. The Canadiens powerplay success continued scoring 3 on the powerplay.
This game was a rough one with the teams combining for 84 penalty minutes. Chris DiNatale finished the game with a hat trick, Chauvin and Maisonville finished with two assists, while Larouque, Jones, Dobrich, and Impens had one point each.
Game 4 is today in Wheatley at 4:30. The Canadiens are looking to wrap up the series and move on to the second round. See you in Wheatley.
