On Sunday afternoon in Wheatley the Canadiens came up short of advancing in the Great Lakes Jr. C playoffs, losing 4-3 in overtime. This lose puts the series now at 3 games to 1 for Belle River. The Sharks had 12 powerplays and the Canadiens had 9, which seems to be the theme in this series, penalties. The Canadiens penalty kill was strong once again allowing no goals against, however their powerplay was 1 for 9. The sharks had a 3-1 lead in the second period, until Mike Ditty made it 3-2. The line of Impens, Ditty, and Jones played another great game for the Canadiens scoring 2 of three goals for Belle River. Scott Chauvin added a powerplay goal in the third to tie the game, and that's how the third period ended. The Sharks ended the game 8:15 into overtime to keep the Canadiens from completing the sweep. Zak Olvin played another tremendous game in net for the Canadiens.
Belle River has scored 18 goals in this series, half of which are on the powerplay. Game 5 is tonight in Belle River at 7:30, the Canadiens must look to their powerplay success in this series, and stay discipline to come out on top tonight.
