Game 5

Game 5 saw the Belle River Canadiens defeat the Wheatley Sharks 4-3 to win the series four games to 1 and advance in the Great Lakes Jr. C playoffs. This game both teams were much more discipline with only 5 penalties in the whole game. Belle River killed off 4 Shark powerplays to keep their penalty kill 39 for 40. Jason Koumaris got the scoring started assisted by Larouque, to make the Canadiens go up 1-0 in the first. Then in the second Larouque scored with a snap shot high blocker assisted by Koumaris to put the Canadiens up 2-1. Nik Dobrich and Weston Gaul added singles in the third to make the score 4-2 in the third. The sharks added a late goal to make it 4-3, but the Canadiens held off the push from Wheatley with the extra attacker to win the game.

The Canadiens will now face the Mooretown flags in the second round. The schedule will be announced soon, and I will post it when it is finalized.
